This massive film festival is Berlin’s biggest. It is also one of the biggest in Europe. It takes places annualy in Berlin. At the same time as other famous festivals like Cains and Venice. The town is completely taken over by the film industry during the event. Numerous showings and premieres light up the city. This is easily the best time of year to see stars walking around and partying in Berlin. Some of the after parties to Berlinale are legendary. Venues all over Berlin open their doors for different themed food parties, get-togethers, tastings, and pretty much every thing else…… This is Berlin food! ITB Berlin – International Travel Trade Show Berlin

6 – 10 March 2019

ITB Berlin is the bohemith of travel trade shows in Europe. ITB which stands for Internationale Tourismus-Börse in German, has been around sense 1966. It is known as the worlds largest Tourism Trade Fair. Every year the take over Berlin Messe Berlin, an expanding complex of buildings with numerous floors in each. Over 180 countries are represented every year at ITB Berlin, and it continues to grow. The first couple days of this tourism festival are only open to business that have registered and bought tickets. On the weekend the show opens up to the public.

Games week Berlin

Berlin Games Week is advertised as “seven days packed with gaming business development.” There are ten plus events and over 15000 people already attending. This is one of Europe’s most Premiere gaming industry events. It also includes open gaming for visitors.

The Citadel Music Festival is more of a summer long concert series. Some of the biggest musicians that play in Berlin play as part of this music festival. Botanical Night at Botanical Garden

19 & 20 July 2019

The Botanical gardens in Berlin hosts a one night a year event the qualifies as one of the most romantic nights in the city. During this magical night a 16 kilometer long path lead through the flower beds and several themed gardens are illuminated guiding to many attractions.

This Deutschland / USA festival celebrates the friendship between the two countries. This is a great place for kids and is basically an American carnival mixed with a German carnival….crazy right? Over 100,000 people attend this almost month long event.

Christopher Street Day

Christopher Street Day (CSD) is in its 41st year in Berlin. The one day parade is one of if not the largest LGBTQ events in Europe. Although the main event is one day the week leading up to the parade has sprung numerous side events, party’s, and lots of other awesome crazy stuff like only Berlin can. This is the best time to see the real Berlin.

International Berlin Beer Festival

The Berlin international Beer Festival is one of our favorite events. In all we (I) have been to five, maybe six. The festival consist of every kind of beer all over the world. Basically outside from Strausberger Platz and Frankfurter Tor, about 350 breweries from almost 90 countries serve approximately 2,400 different beer specialties.

Potsdam Palace Night

16 and 17 August 2019

This is the best day of the year to visit the magic city of Potsdam. Firstly, castles and palaces open up and put on a show to celebrate the glory and splendor of yesteryear. Step back into the time of Fredrick the Great. Finally, the place is covered with dressed up actors and performers. Our conclusion, this is one romantically magic evening! Highly recommended for couples.

Lollapalooza has quickly become one of the most well known music festivals in Berlin. Although, it is in a city that mostly holds alternative and underground music festivals. Berlin Marathon

29 September 2019

The Berlin Marathon is a staple in the professional long distance running circuit. Therefore, it has attracted massive sponsors, 2019 is sponsored by BMW, entry is available to the public via a draw. Whilst the pro’s have a different starting time. Running along side many of Berlin’s most notable monuments, The winner is guaranteed a spot in the next Olympics.

Berlin leuchtet

Berlin Leuchtet is a city wide version of the Berlin Festival of Lights below. There are over 500 different buildings are lit up! Literally every where has something to offer and each year is different. Our favorite is always the oberbaumbrucke.

The Berlin Festival of lights is one of our favorite festivals in Berlin. In other words, for more than a week many of Berlin’s historical landmarks and buildings are light up with a magical display of moving lights.
